Language Classes

Planning a trip? Learn to speak and understand languages from around the world! UNM Continuing Education features a robust language program with classes taught by native speakers. From Spanish to Korean, we help you get started on the journey of language learning. We have advanced courses in many languages so that you may continue to enhance and practice your new language skills. Learn a new language, for business, social or cultural purposes. Language classes fill quickly, so register early.

Class Name

Continue the conversations you started in Conversational Spanish Part I. You'll focus on communication, learn a variety of verb tenses, and practice using your vocabulary in daily situations. The class will be divided into conversational groups so you'll have an immediate outlet for using advanced grammar and vocabulary. You'll also make a Spanish presentation on a topic of your choice.

Build on your knowledge of sign language in this advanced course. You'll expand your understanding of the process and structure of sign language and continue improving your signing and comprehension skills. The class also includes a deeper look at deaf culture. Note: Recommended text is A Basic Course in American Sign Language by Tom Humphries, Carol Padden and Terrence J. O'Rourke.
