IT professionals are constantly challenged to keep up with the increasing security threats we're all facing. There are lots of courses that teach defense in various forms, but few that show you what the hackers are really doing. People who learn ethical hacking are called security testers, or penetration testers, or more commonly pen testers. Very large enterprises employ outside pen testers to attempt to crack their systems, and there is a growing demand for dedicated pros. But pen testing skills are also valuable for IT staff in smaller operations, because they can get most of the benefits at a much lower cost in-house. In either case, and especially if you already have certifications like the Network+ or Security+, a certification like EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) is a big step up. It certifies that you know the current, real tools and techniques that hackers and social engineers are using against you and the people you support. Come join us for a two-hour InfoByte where 20-year IT veteran Glenn Norman will discuss and take questions on high-level security certifications and the CEH in particular.

Note: Please register online or RSVP to digitalarts@unm.edu by April 7, 2017. This session is free. Bring a friend. Held at 1634 University Blvd. NE.
