Outdoor Recreation Classes

Get outside and free yourself from your routine! Whether you enjoy hiking, kayaking, improving your golf game, or taking on a new challenge, we offer activities for all skill levels. Everyone can find something they enjoy.

Our instructors specialize in their sport and will work with you on how to train and avoid injury. Get right to the fun by learning the ropes under friendly, expert guidance. Our Outdoor Recreation classes will get you moving and having fun in no time.

This Bicycle Mechanics Course is designed to teach basic skills for the novice and advanced cyclists. The Bicycle Mechanics Program will certify students, upon completion of required course materials. This certificate can be used for knowledge verification in the bicycle mechanic's field. Note: A materials fee of $35 is payable to the instructor at the first class. Bring your bike to class, any tools you may have and a sack dinner.

This course is designed to take both the 'never been' skier as well as those who are having problems with fundamental techniques to a level of ability that allows safe and comfortable travel through backcountry terrain. Techniques to be developed will include the kick and glide, wedge and wedge turn, stem Christi, parallel and telemark turns, hill climbing and trail strategies. Classroom sessions will consider ski equipment and clothing selections. basic orienteering and terrain evaluation, as well as slide presentation and lecture demonstrating the above techniques. Students must be in good physical condition to meet the rigorous demands of this class. Tuition does not include ski equipment rental. Ski sessions begin in the morning. Bring a sack lunch.

Go beyond the basic stroke development. We will review ground strokes and then proceed to develop shots such as the lob, volley, overhead, serves, and return of serves. It is important to learn and practice these strokes, so the course will also include match play. Note: Bring two cans of NEW tennis balls, racquet, tennis shoes, and a container of water.
