Now a fully online class! UNM Continuing Education’s Paralegal Certificate Program offers 96 hours of instruction and is designed for students who seek a broad overview of the legal system, legal research and other paralegal skills. The course also covers civil procedure and litigation, criminal procedure, evidence, interviewing, discovery, ethics, and legal research and writing.

Location: Online. The class will have live-online sessions, and can be taken remotely.

Antonia Roybal-Mack, JD and Darren Cordova


Antonia Roybal-Mack is the founder and a managing partner of Roybal- Mack & Cordova, P.C. Antonia brings in vast experience as a litigation and planning attorney who aids in shaping the policies of the organization. She is a dynamic powerhouse in the organization, evident from her honors throughout her career as a civil lawyer. Antonia has been the President and is currently serving as one of the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association.

Must be 18 and over and have earned a high school diploma or GED.

Paralegal positions are expected to have a faster than average growth rate in the U.S. between now and 2022.The Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the annual salary range for this field in New Mexico is $30K-58K. Our Paralegal Certificate Program can help you get into this promising career!

The Paralegal Internship is part of the UNM Continuing Education Experiential Learning Program which gives students the opportunity to practice the skills learned in the classroom and apply them to real-life workplace situations. Paralegal interns are placed in various fields of the law, including government agencies such as Offices of the District Attorney and the New Mexico Public Defender Department, large and small law firms, and other areas. The students work under the direct supervision of a site supervisor which is typically an attorney or senior paralegal. In addition, the UNMCE internship supervisor will offer additional support to the student and monitor his or her progress in the program.

The Paralegal Internships are only open to graduates of the UNMCE Paralegal Certificate Program. Acceptance requires successful completion of the program and instructor recommendation. Dates and times are arranged with student based on their needs.

Classes will be held online through Zoom.

The total cost is $2,995 and includes all materials, including a subscribtion to LexisNexis®. As a subscriber to LexisNexis®, students qualify to complete the LexisNexis® Paralegal Student Certification of Mastery training program, designed specifically to help students increase proficiency in online legal research using
