Online courses are now standard learning environments, so it's important that you know how to develop them. This class focuses on building online course components that maximize content comprehension in an online environment. You'll study how to incorporate activities and other course content that encourages interaction and enhances student engagement. You'll also build your knowledge of common course development activities, including discussion sessions, uploading assignments, adding video and other media, and developing assessments. Notes: This is a hybrid course. This class will meet face‐to‐face for the first class session only. This face‐to‐face class session will give the students an introduction to the Moodle platform and how to access their course shells. The class is a total of 18 hours, with 3 hours face‐to‐face, 12 hours working independently online and 3 hours with a one‐on‐one session with the instructor to focus on technical support. The one‐on‐one is arranged between the student and instructor.

This 120-hour certification course will develop or enhance your career in career development. A GCDF may serve as a career group facilitator, job search trainer, career resource center coordinator, career coach, career development case manager, intake interviewer, occupational and labor market information resource person, academic advisor, human resource career development coordinator, employment/placement specialist, or workforce development staff person. This exciting course is designed to help individuals learn to assist individuals in their career development.

This course is a hybrid course — we will meet face-to-face every week and then you are responsible for self-paced online coursework as well. Students can expect approximately 30 hours of homework while completing this course.

You must have a Bachelor’s degree and currently be working in or pursuing a career advisement position. Contact Jenna Crabb, jennas@unm.edu for program questions. You must attend all class sessions in order to be certified. Times in schedule include the number of hours expected each week to work on the online portion of the class.

Become a Global Career Development Facilitator! This 120‐hour certification course will develop or enhance your career in career development.
