MCAT and PCAT Prep

Our MCAT/PCAT program is run by Jay Cutts, a lead author of the Barron’s MCAT Prep Book and Barron’s MCAT Flash Cards. This program prepares participants for the nationally standardized Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT). The course covers science review, timing strategy, scientific problem‐solving strategy, strategy for the CARS (MCAT) and Reading Comp (PCAT), and strategy for the PCAT math, giving you the tools to achieve the best score possible on your professional admission exam.

Class Name

This class prepares students for taking the MCAT or PCAT exams, for entrance into medical school and pharmacy school, respectively. The course covers science review, timing strategy, scientific problem‐solving strategy, strategy for the CARS (MCAT) and Reading Comp (PCAT), and strategy for the PCAT math. Our program is run by Jay Cutts, a New Mexico educator and lead author of the Barron's MCAT Prep Book and Barron's MCAT Flash Cards. Two of the instructors are also authors on these Barron's products. As director of Cutts Graduate Reviews, Mr. Cutts has specialized in timing and testing strategy for over 28 years. Our program places a strong emphasis on strategy. All students have unlimited one‐on‐one coaching with Jay Cutts outside of class for an unlimited time in order to master strategies. Description: The program consists of seven four‐hour classes for the seven content areas – general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics (MCAT), psychology/sociology (MCAT) and strategy (CARS and PCAT Reading Comp, timing, PCAT math). PCAT students are welcome to attend the physics and psychology/sociology classes but they are not required for the PCAT. MCAT students are welcome to attend the math portion of the strategy class but it is not required for the MCAT. Each class consists of hands‐on work with actual test questions, supplemented with explanations and mini‐lectures by the instructor. Instructors emphasize both the learning of science concepts and the practicing of testing and problem‐solving strategy. Outside of class students may work with each science instructor by phone for up to a total of two hours for additional help. Students have unlimited help with Jay Cutts. Registration in this course includes registration in the STEPS to the MCAT program offered by Cutts Graduate Reviews. STEPS provides a comprehensive study plan with an online dashboard and access to advanced study materials and study partners.
